The UPPDA International Committee aims to assist international postdocs in transitioning to the University of Pittsburgh by providing them with resources. The International Committee Chair works with the Office of International Services and other ethnic student organizations to organize social and networking events for international postdocs and provide them with relevant information.

Tips on preparing your tax return.
International postdocs are subject to U.S. federal and state tax laws. However, residents of certain countries may be exempt from U.S. taxes or receive other benefits due to tax treaties. Those who intend to pay taxes in the U.S. typically have the same automatic tax withholding as employee postdocs. On the other hand, tax-exempt postdocs may or may not have taxes withheld based on their appointment and institution. For more information, click here
